What’s our deal

Generic “about” pages drive me crazy, so I’m going to attempt to write this as I would tell you in person.

(for better or worse.)

Architecture is a relationship.

The process is long and life’s too short to not enjoy who you spend your time with. We’re not going to be the right fit for every project, but we will put all of ourselves into every project. We want our teams, partners, collaborators, and clients to feel the same, or at least understand our perspective.

We’re NOT experts on everything.

We have a tremendous amount of experience and knowledge on architecture and design, especially in the city / county of Los Angeles, but there’s always more to learn, the “expert” label has a tendency to stall growth.

Each project is unique and has its own challenges, we use our experience to guide the process as efficient as possible, still, we never want to miss out on an opportunity. We’re always going to take our chances, push the limits, think outside the box, and all those other clichés but at the end of the day, we’re here in it together, if we’re not all on the same page we keep studying until we are.

Project goals are the first thing we design.

Whether its cost, schedule, quality, sustainability, area, resale, etc. each project is shaped by it goals. Before a single line gets drawn we start by creating a roadmap. This will keep us all moving in the right direction. To belabor a lame metaphor, there will be detours, speedbumps, and shortcuts, but we’ll always know how to get back to where we need to be.
